Fishing is pretty good, but not as good as last year at this time. I feel like the fish population is down a little. We will find out in 2 weeks when ODFW does the electroshock survey.
Hatches have been light with the end of the Mother’s Day Caddis. Now it’s a BWO, Midge, some caddis and some Mahogany Dun hatch.
Nymphing is best right now and Frenchies, Anato May, Copper Johns, Micro Mayfly, 2 Bit Hooker, Rainbow Warrior, Scuds and Midges.
Czech Nymph and Drop Shot systems will certainly be your best methods now.
A heads up that the Clark Skamania Club from Washington is expecting 40 anglers on the water and camping on the river this weekend.
