The Metolius fished really well this weekend, and Mattias landed an absolute UNIT of a Bull Trout yesterday. Ask him about it this week when you see him in the shop. I’ll try to post it on the FFP Instagram Page.
I am going to finally launch a new Instagram Page called Oregon_Stillwater_Jeff that will focus on the lake fishing here. It will be a place were flies, techniques, boats, tackle and gorgeous fish are shown and shared. Tonight will be the 1st posts on the new page so take a look and follow it if you think it is cool.
My friends Phil Rowley and Rick Haefle are offering an entomology class online next week, and Phil and Brian Chan are starting their Chironomids Master Class next week too. If you want to learn more and more and more about fly fishing (I do, which is why I took that Chironomid master class last year) this is a good way to gain knowledge.
Here are the direct links to each course:

We are going to endure a bit of crappy weather tonight and tomorrow and then some gorgeous spring weather is coming. Get out and fish. The Metolius, Middle Deschutes, Maupin, Fall River, Lower McKenzie, Justesen Ranch, Lake Billy, Ochocco Reservoir, Haystack Reservoir, Chickahominy Reservoir, Ana…. All gonna be good to go now.
Lot’s of you called about my presentation on Stillwater fishing next monday 3/18/24. It is the Go Fish Group (AKA The Sisters Fly Fishing Club) and they meet at 7 PM at the Sisters Community Church located at 1300 McKenzie Hwy Sisters, OR 97759. Hope to see you there for my talk. It’s fun and informative and should make you a better stillwater angler.
