This tying seminar will have Phil showing 7 of his favorite flies to represent the life cycle of the chironomid with variations and options almost unlimited for a fly tyer to match local colors and sizes.

Phil will project the image from his vise to our large screen HD TV for easier to follow visuals. You won’t be tying in this class, and questions and discussions will flow freely.

Cost is $75. Limited to 15 people.

Full Payment is due at the time of booking. Refunds can only be given if your space is filled.

Class runs from 9 AM to 1 PM

Bring a snack and drink for the class. Breaks will be short.

On June 1st, 2025 we will do a Fish-a-Long at East Lake with any and all participants invited to meet Phil and Jeff at noon on the beach near the East Lake Campground.
There is no charge for this event, you need to bring your own boat, gear, flies and food for the day. The Fly Fisher’s Place will provide a MONSTER Cookie from Angelines Bakery when we meet at noon.
In the event that East Lake is still snowed in we will change it to a lower elevation venue and let everyone know where as we closer to the day. Little Lava Lake is a great back up as it has a place for several boats to be pulled on to the shoreline and for us to congregate, but East Lake and Paulina Lake offer the best places to do that for sure.
