This shocked me, but after last winter I am gun shy about the Crooked with all the persistent high water that began in December and last well into spring.
Even with the heavy rains the inflow to the reservoir only went from 106 cfs to 436 cfs, and BOR held outflow to 100 cfs! The reservoir is at 50% capacity so that’s why it held. They are storing water, not wasting water.
Got a nice report from our customer Rob K about his good fishing there 2 days ago, he had his best success on a black leech.
Scuds, Midges, Perdigons, 2 Bits, Frenchie, Skinny Nelson, Slum Lords, Soccer Moms, Wooly Buggers.
Think about drop shotting your nymphs to go low and slow. Also NZ Wool indicators are WAY more sensitive than any other indicator and when the winter bite is soft and delicate this makes a huge difference.
More good news.
Go fish.
