Good morning from the fly tying desk at The Fly Fisher's Place, where I am back to work and catching up after being gone for 2 weeks fishing in Belize. I'll start by saying thank you for all the comments and well wishes after last weeks report. I made it through covid fine, with a few days worse than the rest and I feel fine now but have a lingering cough that is annoying. Jeff’s Fishing Report and musings 10/13/24

October 13, 2024October 13, 2024flyfishersplace

I've had a few days of laying around because I got really sick on Wednesday and have to quarantine at home. It's a Total Bummer to miss guiding and fishing, and I also really need to be at the shop counting flies to finish deadlines for preseason orders. But that's life, we can't control a … Continue reading Jeff’s Fishing Report and musings 10/13/24

October 5, 2024October 5, 2024flyfishersplace

Hi gang, if you follow my reports you know I get frustrated with the USFS and their handling of our public docks and other facilities. As you know, this issue dropped to a low point this last week when the crew responsible for docks took them out of every lake in our region at the … Continue reading Jeff’s all original fishing report 10/5/24

October 1, 2024flyfishersplace

I can’t believe that we arrived to Paulina today and docks have been removed. There is an entire damn month of fishing season left! Who remembers when the values of Central Oregon were cool and agencies made sure facilities coincided with our seasonal openings and closures? I do. It’s just been a few years of … Continue reading Forest Circus removed docks and shut bathrooms 10-1-24

September 27, 2024September 27, 2024flyfishersplace

I am writing this one at a different time of the day on a warm and very dark night here in Sisters. After working in the garage on some fishing tackle projects, I decided I needed a break from that and wanted to put some of my thoughts about the fishing out tonight, so I'd … Continue reading Jeff’s Fishing Report 9/27/2024
