Jeff’s fishing report September 27, 2025

September 27, 2025October 11, 2025flyfishersplace

It's Sisters Folk Festival weekend and that is always a highlight weekend around our lovely little city. The Rodeo, Quilt Show and the Folk Festival are the big 3, but Sisters does a fantastic job with all the other events like the Harvest Festival next month, the Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Parade and others. … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report September 27, 2025

Jeff’s Fishing Report

September 20, 2025September 20, 2025flyfishersplace

If you follow me on Facebook you have already seen my message of the week. It is empathy. The human emotion I believe that is the most important one. I told a different story on Facebook last night, but I have been wanting to tell this one for a while because it means so much … Continue reading Jeff’s Fishing Report

Jeff’s Fishing Report 9/13/25

September 13, 2025September 13, 2025flyfishersplace

Hello from beautiful Sisters, Oregon. It seems like a bit of an early fall, but I am sure some hot summer like days are on the horizon. Growing up in Oregon and spending most of my life in Central Oregon I know the most perfect days come in September and October. And with no smoke … Continue reading Jeff’s Fishing Report 9/13/25

Jeff’s Fishing Report 9/6/2025 Go Fish!

September 6, 2025September 6, 2025flyfishersplace

Hello from Sisters, Oregon! We had a few thunder showers push through last night and I love the left over cloud cover today. It feels "drakey" to me. With a cooling trend for the 1st part of the upcoming week, combined with some rain I think the Metolius hatches are going to soar. I think … Continue reading Jeff’s Fishing Report 9/6/2025 Go Fish!

Jeff’s Labor Day Fishing Report 8/29/25

August 29, 2025August 29, 2025flyfishersplace

Good Friday afternoon from Sisters, Oregon on the start of this busy holiday weekend. I wanted to share what we know early for this report as so many of our friends and customers are headed over tonight or in the morning to get the most out of the 3 day weekend. I think it is … Continue reading Jeff’s Labor Day Fishing Report 8/29/25

Jeff’s fishing report 8/23/2025

August 23, 2025August 23, 2025flyfishersplace

Hello from a smokey Sisters, Oregon. Many of you know that a fire started about 3 days ago towards Lake Billy Chinook and yesterday things got a little hairy around here. The City of Sisters is not currently in the path of the fire, but the areas to the NE of the city just about … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report 8/23/2025

East Lake Callibaetis update 8/17/25

August 17, 2025flyfishersplace

Today was the day I’ve been hoping for, and waiting to see again. A good and consistent Callibaetis hatch came off about 1 and lasted for about an hour and a half. We landed about 10 on a comparadun and one on a film critic when the hatch just got started. Then it was duns … Continue reading East Lake Callibaetis update 8/17/25

Jeff’s fishing report 8/15/25

August 16, 2025August 16, 2025flyfishersplace

Hello from Sisters. Saturday is going to be a busy day between casting lessons, shop work and finishing filling up my last spots for Argentina and Belize trips. I am currently being serenaded by some kind of a horn outside the office window. I know that left you hanging so I got up and looked … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report 8/15/25

East Lake Callibaetis 8/10/25

August 10, 2025flyfishersplace

If you read yesterday’s fishing report you saw I was lamenting that I have not seen many good dry fly days on my favorite lakes, especially with Callibaetis hatches. Next week I’ll write about not winning the lottery because it may the rule of reverse psychology. This morning we had good Callibaetis spinner fall dry … Continue reading East Lake Callibaetis 8/10/25

August 2, 2025August 2, 2025flyfishersplace

How in the world can it be August? Summer 2025 is flying by and all of the staff at FFP are all busy. There are days when we have too many guide trips and not enough people to cover the shop. It is a whirlwind, which is fun, and I am thankful for the good … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report 8/2/25
