If you were fishing around Central Oregon yesterday, you probably had a jacket on, and battled the wind on some of the lakes and streams. I know Sequoia came in to the shop after her Crooked River trip and was telling me how strong the wind was in the canyon. I heard from people who … Continue reading a cool fishing report for the end of summer 8/30/26

Happy World Cup Sunday. I usually write the report on Saturday but I was taking a Spanish class yesterday and here we are. There is a lot of good fishing to be found, and some to avoid due to heat. I will outline those more carefully below. I was personally relieved to see the lakes … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report July 19, 2026

Last year we had some really special quilts with a … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report 7/11/2026

A quick reminder that we postponed the 40 year anniversary party today. A new date has not been set. But let's start with a delightful story from yesterday than brought back some great memories of the early days in the fishing business. I finally had a day off form guiding yesterday and had some things … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report June 27th, 2026

Howdy Partner, it is rodeo time in Sisters, which they call it the biggest little show in the world. I just watched the parade and saw all the old cars, marching bands, rodeo queens and fire trucks I need to see for the day. I always love the parade, it is a Sisters tradition and … Continue reading Jeff’s Rodeo Weekend Fishing Report 6/13/26

Hello from La Ventana in Baja, Mexico. My arms are tired today from fighting big fish and casting big rods. A tough problem to have I know. I know. I love to travel to catch fish that are different from the ones we catch at home. I love to experience foreign food, different scenery and … Continue reading Jeff’s Fishing Report June 6, 2026

I believe Tennyson wrote that "tis better to have hooked a trout and lost it, than to never hooked it at all". Or something like that... Actually it is a line I give to my clients in the boat to cheer them up after the LDR. I am always a bit sad when the folks … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report 5/30/2026

Hello from FFP World HQ, its early in the morning here and I just woke up and have a lot to share about fishing in Central Oregon with so many waters waking up for spring, or becoming accessible early because of the mild winter. The Metolius River still has a small area of seasonal closure … Continue reading Jeff’s Fishing Report April 25, 2026

Hello from a wet and cool Pacific NW! A few places are probably off the table for a few days, and other places are going to be just as good as ever, maybe even enhanced by the weather sweeping through. We will get to that in the fishing report, looking at the weekend here and … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report 10/10/2025
