6/6/2023 Again this year at East and Paulina Lakes there are also no docks installed yet, and the bathrooms are still locked. We are well into June, and these sites have been open and accessible to fishing, kayaking and hiking for around 2 full weeks now. Some sites at Paulina are close to 3 weeks of access as of today. … Continue reading Get involved today and write or call the USFS and Senators/Congressman. Be part of the solution.

Fishing Report for June 5th, 2023
Oh man did we get pounded by a hail storm up on the lakes today. My guiding partner & good friend Steve and I both ended up in the woods with our customers, all hunkering under some trees to not get pounded by what ended up being a half an hour of a hard hail … Continue reading Fishing Report for June 5th, 2023
Lakes update for the 1st of June
East Lake is ok, seems to be in a bit of a turnover with murkier water, plus a lot of rainbows on the bank lines going through spawning motions. Water temps high 40’s to lower 50’s. Today we got all of our fish (around 12) on black balanced leeches. I think it’s good to fish, … Continue reading Lakes update for the 1st of June
Good news, Rivers are DROPPING 5/24/23
Wow the rivers are dropping and clearing fast. Good to see for the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend. The Lower Deschutes now has about 3 feet of clarity and clearing, and has dropped to well below 5000 cfs. The Salmonfly and Goldenstone hatches are going to rip for the next 2 weeks! PMD's and Caddis are … Continue reading Good news, Rivers are DROPPING 5/24/23

greeting fellow stillwater enthusiasts! It's been a wild ride on the weather for the last 5 days and this changes the game quite a bit for most of us accessing some of the lakes, and gives us new ideas for some of the others we might not have on the radar as much. Starting up … Continue reading A little update for the lakes: talking about snow, and access, + safety and fishing options 10/26/22
A (little early) fishing report 10/21/22
With big weather changes coming up tonight, I thought it might be helpful to make some predictions and talk about conditions before all that happens so you can plan for the weather and make choices depending on how conditions will be over the next couple of days and week ahead. Starting on the lakes, I … Continue reading A (little early) fishing report 10/21/22
10/16/22 Fishing Update
It looks like one more week of glorious weather coming, and then a big change coming in next saturday. I'd say for most of us, this brings mixed feelings and may even change some fishing plans, but overall while I am going to miss the sunshine and short sleeve shirts, I am hopeful that these … Continue reading 10/16/22 Fishing Update
October 10th Fishing Updates
Thank you to all of the people who responded last week to my comments about bathroom services and dock access. It is nice to know we stand together in sharing the idea that these services align with the fishing season, and should not align with a decision made in an office by people who apparently … Continue reading October 10th Fishing Updates
