Middle Deschutes fishing report 3/5/16

The water is quite high but I am always encouraged how many customers have little pockets they can get into at this water level.
Some guys are already bringing fish up on March Browns and #12 or #14 Purple Haze dries. Not much of a hatch yet, in fact most of the best MB hatches come in April and early May, but apparently there have been enough to get the fish looking up.

Streamer fishing is a good bet. I’d recommend a sink tip and sculpin or bunny leech.

Nymphing with stone nymphs and with jigs will get you down, and then a #12-14 Hares Ear or PT will imitate the clinger/MB nymphs.
