As mentioned earlier in the month the bite went to slow, then the storm hit last week keeping me off the lake and down Lower in elevation, but this week looked great for enjoying access to the lake again and the fishing is just magical.
In the morning we’ve been doing well in about 16-17′ hanging a red chironomid about 2 feet off the bottom, and a smaller black chironomid another 20 inches above the red. Lot’s of bobbers going under.
Afternoon beetle fishing along the banks had been good.
The Callibaetis seem to be done, seeing none on my 2 trips this week so far.
Leeches are working well in shallower water on either a Hover or Intermediate line stripped with a medium 5 or 6 inch retrieval.
