Our guides began the guide season this week with good fishing, with slightly high water so far, but coming down quickly, river conditions are fair to go right now.
Early season nymphing this week has been good. Stonefly nymphs, Caddis Pupa, Frenchies, Lightning Bugs and 3 Dollar Dips.
Yesterday there were some decent caddis hatches, but no real dry fly takers as of yet.
I would guess the Salmonfly hatch is going to be closer to Mothers Day this year than early in the month and go well into the 1st or 2nd week of June with Golden Stones lasting a little longer.
FYI- Levels today at Warm Springs are 5400. Normal summer levels in June, July, August are 3900 to 4400 depending on the seasonal needs of water.
