The good news is it’s the official opening day of the headwaters section of the Metolius, and also the Upper Deschutes from Benham Falls to Little Lava Lake, as well as Whychus and Tumalo Creeks! Fun to have those open again and a sure sign summer fishing is ever so close.
The bad news is the Crooked bumped up to over 400 cfs with the heavy rain. My hope is it will go down quickly in a few days, it’s fishable at 400 but better under 300. I’d say it will be a go for the holiday weekend with continued Mother’s Day Caddis hatches dominating the menu.
