Metolius River fishing report 6/21/19

Happy 1st day of summer. Green Drakes probably have about a week left before they are kaput until the September hatch!

We are seeing lower numbers of drakes this weeks, and I am wondering if that had more to do with the windy days than being over. In all my years of being here and fishing, it never ends mid June, so my feeling is this coming week is going to still produce.

PMD’s, Caddis, a few BWO’s, Yellow Sallies and an evening Rusty Spinner fall will bring up fish throughout the day. Golden Stones will really be getting going soon, and there are already good sightings of some early hatchers. I even saw a couple of salmon flies this week.
