Lower Deschutes fishing report 10/2/19

The trout fishing is really good from Warm Springs down through South Jct and into the Maupin area, and there are steelhead in the Mix all the way from the Mouth up to Warm Springs. I know some guys that landed 7 on flies walking up from the Mouth a few days ago.
nymphing for trout is by far producing the best results and we are using Oct Caddis Pupa, Stonefly Nymphs, Girdle Bugs & Cheeseburgers and running droppers using PT’s, Small Pupa’s, Midges, Prince (sneaky steelhead nymph!) and cdc guide hares ear.
There are some trout looking up with the end of the PMD’s and the onset of better fall BWO’s and small caddis. Look for eddies to find more concentrations of rising fish.
