July 9, 2022July 9, 2022flyfishersplace 2 Comments

Greetings from colorful Sisters, Oregon. Today is the annual quilt show and every building has multiple quilts hanging. It is a beautiful display of color and artistic talent these quilters put into each one of these works. For them to converge on this little Mountain town in Central Oregon is something we look forward to … Continue reading June 9th fishing report and updates

July 1, 2022July 1, 2022flyfishersplace 2 Comments

Good morning on this 1st morning of July. Summer has been really nice over the last couple of weeks. Not overly hot, that's for sure, with cool nights and mornings the waters around the region are in much better shape than last year at this time when we had that heat dome event over the … Continue reading 4th of July Fishing Report and updates

6/24/22 Fishing Report and it happens every year

June 24, 2022June 24, 2022flyfishersplace

With lot's of good fishing to report, we are now seeing high 70's, glorious 80's and even some low 90's for a few days over the weekend. Great fishing weather and a welcome pattern for us. It's hard to believe last week I had 2 postponed trips due to high winds and snow, and just … Continue reading 6/24/22 Fishing Report and it happens every year

Today doesn't feel like "almost summer", but by Tuesday and throughout the week it will not only be summer, but Summer warmth is coming too. I am so ready for that as I am sure you are too. If you live in the Pacific NW, you know a little warmer weather, and less gray will … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report and updates and it’s almost summer!

June 11th Fishing Update

June 11, 2022June 11, 2022flyfishersplace 1 Comment

I was in the shop this morning working with Brad, as we met the Simms rep for our 2023 Spring Simms order. Outside, horses, llamas fire trucks and rodeo queens rode by for the first time in 2 years for the annual Sisters Rodeo Parade. It was good to see the crowds come out and … Continue reading June 11th Fishing Update

Memorial Day 2022 Fishing Report and Updates

May 28, 2022May 28, 2022flyfishersplace

Good morning from beautiful Sisters, Oregon. We woke up at home, which was unplanned as we had intended to camp on the Metolius for a few nights. But camping in the rain is not a ton of fun, especially in a small trailer with dogs. So hopefully next weekend we will get to the river … Continue reading Memorial Day 2022 Fishing Report and Updates

An exciting fishing report 5/21/2022

May 21, 2022May 21, 2022flyfishersplace

Here we are, May 21st and it's been a weird start to the fishing season since April. Mostly due to snow up in the lakes and wind and cold weather down on the rivers. Is that about to change? For a while it looks like and that is why I think this is going to … Continue reading An exciting fishing report 5/21/2022

Jeff’s fishing report 5/15/2022

May 15, 2022May 15, 2022flyfishersplace 4 Comments

First off, I am sorry I missed a week. I was in Mexico catching baby tarpon and when I got home I honestly felt like I didn't have enough information to provide a good and accurate report. Now, having been home for a week, getting some time on the water, and time in the fly … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report 5/15/2022

Fly Fisher’s Update 4/30/22

April 29, 2022April 29, 2022flyfishersplace 2 Comments

April came and went (almost) with a lot of blessings and luck. We are now sitting at 103% in the Deschutes Basin and 142% for the McKenzie. Some delayed openings (pushed back to more of what we will call normal) on some high lakes, but we will take that with glee, joy, answered prayers and … Continue reading Fly Fisher’s Update 4/30/22
