Hello and thanks for reading the newest report, I am writing it on a friday night because I take off for Patagonia early in the morning and I won't have time to share anything tomorrow with the group travel and getting settled in San Martin de Los Andes. I know a lot of you are … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report 1/9/2026

The first fishing report of 2026, and thanks for being here reading it. Whether you are going fishing, or dreaming about the fish, or here for the irreverent humor and a story or two, Happy New Year and thank you for being a part of the FFP community. I spent the morning walking around Buenos … Continue reading Jeff’s Fishing Report January 3, 2026

I hope you had a good Christmas holiday with the people you love. I know the holidays can be a whirlwind of activity, and certainly this coming week things will slow down a little and desires for fishing and tying flies, or reading fishing books, going to the fly fishing film tour, and pouring over … Continue reading Jeff’s Fishing Report 12/27/2025

A “mostly high water” fishing report 12/19/25

December 19, 2025December 19, 2025flyfishersplace 4 Comments

It is mostly a wash-out throughout the entire Pacific NW with very few fishable rivers. The one that is still fishable for sure is the Fall River, and I am not sure I trust the gauges on the Crooked but the internet says the flow from Bowman Dam remains 100 cfs. What makes me question … Continue reading A “mostly high water” fishing report 12/19/25

Good morning from San Martin de Los Andes, Argentina where I am watching my friend Rod Bonacker pack up his clothes and fishing gear for the start of our long trek home. I will be home tomorrow night and will be working in the shop this coming week before heading back to Argentina and Chile … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report December 13th, 2025

Good morning from Buenos Aires, today we leave to Patagonia and the wonderful mountain town of San Martin de Los Andes, one of my favorite places that isn't Sisters or Camp Sherman or Neskowin, Oregon. It is really special and I am so excited to share this trip with the 7 great people who are … Continue reading Jeff’s Fishing Report 12/6/2025

Leftovers, good football and family time are most likely the program for most of us this weekend, but of course we need to circle through all the places you dream about fishing this coming week and discuss hatches, trends, weather and tactics that will put you ahead of the game when you venture out in … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report 11/29/25

Jeff’s Thanksgiving Week Fishing Report 11/22/25

November 22, 2025November 22, 2025flyfishersplace 2 Comments

In a week dominated by food, family and football, add another "f" to the week and go fishing. Heck, add another "f" this week for fun. Fun. Fishing is good on a lot of the local waters and should remain so until we really get a different weather pattern. If I am not fishing, I … Continue reading Jeff’s Thanksgiving Week Fishing Report 11/22/25

Jeff’s Fishing Report 11/1/25

Today marks my 34th year since I took over ownership of the Fly Fisher's Place in 1991. What a ride, in business, in life, in fishing, in learning, in friendships and in losses. I take nothing for granted, and I can tell you that in the early and mid-years of this journey that some of … Continue reading Jeff’s Fishing Report 11/1/25

Good morning from the stormy Pacific NW! In this report I will go through our local waters, touching on, and detailing information for our rivers and lakes. In some cases this is going to be a reminder that some places are likely done for the year, while others are in a peak time for fishing. … Continue reading Jeff’s fishing report 10/25/25
