We had a report of the 1st steelhead of the season down at the mouth. WOW.
While it will be a while yet for the steeled to show up in the day stretch, I can say the trout fishing up in the Warm Springs to Trout Creek drift is pretty good. We are finding the most success on small mayfly and caddis nymphs, but swinging a sculpin or crayfish patterns on a sink-tip with a small switch rod is a good bet.
Evening hatches are good as long as it stays warm and the north wind stays away. Look for PMD’s and PED’s, Caddis and Rusty Spinners all from 7 PM to 9’ish.
