Water temperatures are about 49 degrees which is cold and optimal! Water levels are running about 230 cfs which is about 10 to 20 cfs lower than normal but very close to normal for this time of year. Overall, conditions are quite good.
The fish are keyed on midges and baetis nymphs! Zebra Midge is an incredible pattern right now, trailed off a micro mayfly or skinny nelson.
PMD hatches are getting better, and both nymphs and dries are producing fish. In the evening, look for caddis and then rusty spinners at dusk. I had a friend absolutely slam fish on a caddis pupa a few nights ago in the riffles.
There are no closures in effect on the Crooked River below Bowman Dam and will not be so no worries.
