Crooked River fishing report 2/2/16

In all fairness the Crooked is slow’ish.

Yes, if you work hard and fish slow you’ll pick up some fish. The fish seem to be in the slowest water. They seem to be taking zebra midges more than anything but sow bugs and scuds are good choices too.

When the take is this soft you can’t use a bobber with much success. You need yarn or wool, it makes a huge difference.

Look for rising fish on midges late afternoons where the river see’s a lot of sun during the day…so further down the canyon going towards Prineville is better for that.

I’d guess we are a month out still on any decent BWO action.
