another great week for us on the Metolius, with plenty of PMDs and BWO’s and Caddis to keep the fish well fed.
The Ameletus haven’t popped so far but should now, so be prepared with an olive hackle stacker sparkle dun #14. That same fly will match Flav’s next month!
Stones are isolated in pockets. Not a lot of golden stones in the upper river, but enough are out that the fish will eat a Clarks or Norm’s. There are a few Salmonflies now, Golden Stones of course and a lot of Yellow Sallies.
Nymphing with GS nymphs is always one of our best picks.
Euro Nymphing techniques is really producing a lot of fish.
Bull Trout numbers are getting better, and there have been some nice fish caught through the lower and mid-river sectors up to Canyon Creek.
