Metolius Report 7/22/15

Golden Stone hatches have slowed down a bit in the upper river, but they will improve and be back as we move into August and September. the fish are still looking for them so don’t stop fishing the dries or the nymphs.
I am surprised how many people have used a good old Renegade and caught a number of fish on it in the last month.
PMD Nymphs have been working really well with a PMD hatch coming every afternoon sometime after lunch.
In the early evening we’ve been seeing some good BWO hatches.
Caddis hatches are fair to good. Most of the caddis now are well matched on a #16 with a tan body, although you can see a mix of smaller and bigger caddis.
Bull Trout fishing is better than average…maybe due to the warmer lake conditions? Anyway, there seems to be a lot up in the river.
Water temps and flows are great. Temps are 47. Cold. Really Cold!!! No closures are in effect nor will there be. GO fish.
