Metolius Report 8/11/15

The Fly Fisher's Place

There are still a bunch of Golden Stones hatching from the headwaters to about Gorge CG. Most days you should be able to rise fish on the adult, but the nymph is always good.
There are PMD’s all over the river now and that makes Rusty Spinner falls at dusk. Besides Rusty Spinners look for little BWO spinners too.
BWO hatches are going well in the last afternoon and early evening.
Some days we see great caddis hatches and other days we can go a few days in a row with light to almost no hatch. Usually later in the August the caddis explode again so it won’t be long.
There is an obscure mayfly called an Ameletus hatching. Come check it out about 2 PM from the canyon to the hatchery and down to Bridge 99.
Look for Yellow Sally’s all over the river now and the 1st of the little olive stones.
