Crooked River report 9/6/16

Fishing is not too bad, mostly nymphing with zebra midges and small black mayfly nymphs. You can expect a mix of whitefish and rainbows.

On top there are some PMD, Baetis and Mahogany Duns hatching, plus a few caddis. Fish are looking up some, but nymphs are better.

I keep saying this on my report, and I don’t say it just to sell you another strike indicator…the NZ Wool Indicators work a lot better than a bobber. A lot! You need to detect soft takes and either a Yarn style or go direct contact with a FTB sighter.
With fishing being tougher than in years past, go with 6X fluorocarbon tippet and put some Loon Snake River Mud on it to cut the shine on the tippet.
