Lower Deschutes Fishing Report 10/6/16

My guide staff is seeing consistent and good nymphing in the afternoons on caddis nymphs and small prince nymphs. In the evening, there have been some decent caddis hatches bringing up the fish to the surface.

Lot’s of October Caddis out and the Pupa patterns are the way to go for matching the hatch. We have a little orange girdle bug that is awesome for matching the pupa. I like to run a small prince or worm 2.0 behind it. Boom!

Steelhead catches have been so-so. We’ve caught some but the run is meh. Hopefully it will keep improving this month.
I heard a decent report from the Beavertail to Macks run this week.
