Our little local lake has been pretty darn good all week, with callibaetis, black caddis, leeches and damsel nymphs.
Worth trolling an intermediate line with a black or olive leech trailed with a callibaetis nymph when you see nothing on the surface.
I love fishing a (non-bead) Hares Ear under a NZ Yarn indicator on the shoals when the fish are taking emergers.
Indicator fishing in the deeper drop offs with a Red Chironomid is fantastic at times.
We see the best callibaetis hatch after lunch most days and often see a second go at them in the evening before the caddis hit at dusk.
