Crooked River fishing report 6/4/19

June 4, 2019flyfishersplace

The Crooked is back down to under 300 cfs and that's great news. We've been seeing a good number of Mother's Day Caddis still, and the fish have been eating a mix of adults, spent egg layers, and soft hackles. Our best luck has been on Perdigon's and 2 Bit Hookers Euro Nymphing. Scuds, Ray … Continue reading Crooked River fishing report 6/4/19

Three Creeks Lake update 6/1/19

June 1, 2019flyfishersplace

Besides walking a mile up the hill over a snow covered road, some friends of mine also found the lake to be mostly covered in ice still as of 5/31/19.

3 Creeks Lake update 5/31/19

May 31, 2019flyfishersplace 1 Comment

USFS opened the gate today. While that sounds promising, let me assure you the lake is really not accessible to the average angler. The snow still comes down the hill from the lake a good mile. There is still a lot of snow at and around the lake. A lot. It's going to be a … Continue reading 3 Creeks Lake update 5/31/19

Cascade Lakes report 5/31/19

May 31, 2019flyfishersplace

Hosmer was good for us this week with Callibaetis hatches and fish looking up. Chironomids under an indicator with a Pheasant Tail dropper worked well for us too. There were a number of Water Boatman skimming the surface and taking flight yesterday, and some splashy rises that looked like the fish were chasing them down. … Continue reading Cascade Lakes report 5/31/19

Crooked River fishing report 5/31/19

May 31, 2019flyfishersplace

The water came back down to 470 (+/-) overnight, but that is still high. Fish can be caught along the shoreline with a well presented nymph, either under an indi or ESN. Zebra Midges, Mercury Midges, 2 Bit Hookers, Micro Mayfly, Psycho Prince, Scuds, Ray Charles and Perdigons. You might get some fish to look … Continue reading Crooked River fishing report 5/31/19

Metolius River fishing report 5/31/19

May 31, 2019flyfishersplace

Green Drakes and PMD's are the hot hatches. We are getting a lot of questions about the Green Drakes, and the answer is the hatch is on, it will be getting better, the next 3 to       3 1/2 weeks are the best times of the hatch. The fish will be looking up … Continue reading Metolius River fishing report 5/31/19

Fall River fishing report 5/31/19

May 31, 2019flyfishersplace 2 Comments

Fall River has been a lot of fun especially on dries with PMD's and Green Drake hatches, Ants, Beetles, some Yellow Sally's and a few Olive Caddis mixed in. We've been doing really well with Euro Nymphing Perdigon's and Jigs, 2 Bit Hookers, Micro Mayfly's, Zebra Midges and WD50's. You can also fish many of … Continue reading Fall River fishing report 5/31/19

Lower Deschutes Fishing Report 5/29/19

May 29, 2019flyfishersplace

Salmonfly's and Goldenstones are still the hot hatch. I think we will see them for at least another week, maybe even 10 more days of good action with the big flies. Caddis and PMD hatches also are getting strong, and with that Caddis Pupa and Micro Mayfly Nymphs are pretty darn great. Fishing is definitely … Continue reading Lower Deschutes Fishing Report 5/29/19
