Its a good caddis year. Right now the fish are looking for spent caddis in the eddies and that can offer really fun, technical fishing. We have some sick spent caddis this year.
There are also PMD’s and PED’s and a few BWO’s.
The Nymph game is the best though. Girdle Bugs and other Small Stonefly Nymphs with a dropper are good. We’ve had good days on Caddis Pupa, Soft Hackles, 3 Dollar Dip, CDC Hares Ear, Red Prince and 2 Bit Hookers.
There is some action going on with Sculpins and Buggers on sink tips. It is fun to play with the trout size spey or switch rods when fishing those patterns.
