It’s been a November to remember, with better than average fishing, and seeing how long the Kokanee lasted this fall. It looks like the Kokanee are finally done with the last of them pretty rotten and rolling & drifting along the bottom.
This means plenty of eggs. Yep, fish an egg fly.
Today they were up on BWO’s about 1, and there were some mixed gray caddis flying around too. Fish were looking up for about an hour, otherwise you’ll want to nymph before and after the hatch.
As always, a Golden Stone Nymph (we’ve got some AWESOME new ones!) with an Egg, Zebra Midge, Blue Ice Prince, Red Lightning Bug and BWO nymphs is going to be a great bet.
We’ve got a new little hares ear with a light pink bead that’s been getting some good takes.
I heard about some big Bull Trout this week on streamers. I just got a sweet new streamer rod I can’t wait to fish, but it’ll have to wait until after Thanksgiving for me, as I’ll be in the shop until Wednesday and then headed over to Portland to be with family for the Holiday.
As always, Go Beavers.
See you on the river.
