Lower Deschutes fishing report 6/28/19

June 28, 2019flyfishersplace

the guides are coming back all smiles and keep grabbing caddis to restock their boxes. PMD's and Pale Evening duns are also bringing up fish for the dry fly. Never leave home without a Purple Haze on the D. Nymphing has been great, both indicator and euro.

East Lake Fishing Report 6/28/19

June 28, 2019flyfishersplace

the Callibaetis continue to roll with this being the main hatch at East Lake now. Beetles & Ants are taking fish on the surface too, especially on the windier days. Chironomids under an indicator is very good. Wind Drifting Callibaetis Nymphs, Flashback PT's and mini leeches is good, mostly on an intermediate line but some … Continue reading East Lake Fishing Report 6/28/19

Crane Prairie fishing report 6/28/19

June 28, 2019flyfishersplace

I was lucky to do 2 guide trips at CP this week and the fishing was outstanding both days on Chironomids and Balanced Leeches under an indicator. Wow. Can't wait to go back.

Crooked River report 6/28/19

June 28, 2019flyfishersplace

Out of all the fishing in Central Oregon, the Crooked is pretty much the slowest of the bunch because of all the algae drifting down river. Our FFP guides have found moving down river farther away from the dam it improves and fish can be caught. We've seen this drifting garbage before and it can … Continue reading Crooked River report 6/28/19

Metolius River fishing report 6/28/19

June 28, 2019flyfishersplace

what a week it's been on the Metolius. Green Drakes were the best I saw all season last Saturday, although as of this week the drake action is pretty much done until fall with just an isolated hatch here and there. If you're fishing the canyon, hatchery or Bridge 99 area I'd carry a few … Continue reading Metolius River fishing report 6/28/19

Metolius drake update 6/22/19

June 22, 2019flyfishersplace

Very good drake action today about 3:15 to 4:30. The best I've seen in 2019 so far. Also a good PMD hatch and a bunch of Yellow Sallies hatching this afternoon.

Metolius River fishing report 6/21/19

June 21, 2019flyfishersplace

Happy 1st day of summer. Green Drakes probably have about a week left before they are kaput until the September hatch! We are seeing lower numbers of drakes this weeks, and I am wondering if that had more to do with the windy days than being over. In all my years of being here and … Continue reading Metolius River fishing report 6/21/19

East Lake Callibaetis! 6/21/19

June 21, 2019flyfishersplace

The callibaetis hatch has really come on strong up on the lake. Besides that, this week continues to be awesome with Chironomids in about 10-14 feet with a Poxy Back Callibaetis Nymph as a dropper tag under the indicator about 3 or 4 feet accounted for a lot of fish this week. Ants and Beetles … Continue reading East Lake Callibaetis! 6/21/19

Lower Deschutes fishing report 6/15/19

June 15, 2019flyfishersplace

Caddis, Caddis and more Caddis this week. Fun stuff with the X Caddis, CDC Caddis, Iris, Elk Hair and E/C's. Also, getting a ton of action on the Tan Sparkle Pupa's throughout the day prior to the hatch. PMD's and Pale Evening Duns have been hatching well too, and there have been some good spinner … Continue reading Lower Deschutes fishing report 6/15/19

Three Creeks Lake fishing report 6/15/19

June 15, 2019flyfishersplace

fishing is great. you still can't drive all the way in, so no boat launch available yet. Either wade the edges or carry in a float tube, pontoon or light canoe. Leeches, Ants, Black Caddis, Callibaetis and Damsels are all on the menu.
