There is a lot of snow down in the south county area making the access to the river in a lot of places tough, but the hatchery is a for sure, and I heard someone walked into the falls down the road and had the place to himself but also really good fishing. BWO's are … Continue reading Fall River fishing report 3/12/19

Fall River fishing report 2/15/19
There is a fair bit of snow on the banks making access a little more tricky, but it's not a big deal for most people. I'd say the biggest issues are getting out of the river with the snow, and in some places the layer of pure ice under the snow. So be aware and … Continue reading Fall River fishing report 2/15/19

The new year has been a good one at the Fall River with plenty of those big stockers around the hatchery along with plenty of average sized trout from the Camp Ground down to the Falls. Afternoons have seen decent BWO and Midge hatches and finally some tiny little Black Stoneflies. Cripples are the ticket … Continue reading Fall River fishing report 1/15/19

My guides and staff have been out playing a lot and Fall River has been high on the list lately. Great nymphing day to day and on the warmer afternoons a really nice BWO hatch will come off about 1 or 2. Look for some midge action (nymphs and dries) too.

Fall River (and the Metolius) are the best bets for Central Oregon at the moment, with the consistent temperatures of spring water not allowing the rivers to freeze up, and keeping the bugs and fish active. We are seeing some BWO's in the afternoon, especially around 1 or 2 PM, mixed with some small black … Continue reading Fall River Fishing Report 12/6/18

fishing on the Fall River is good, with an afternoon BWO hatch bringing up fish to dries, and some midge hatches also brings up the selective sippers (don't forget your 7x). The best action is on nymphs right now, with Jigs, Perdigons, 2 Bit Hookers, Tungsten Micro Mayflies and Zebra Midges all doing well matching … Continue reading Fall River Fishing Report 11/17/18

Fall River continues to be quite good with both nymphs and dries taking a good number of fish. There are a lot of large brood stock rainbows ODFW put in that people are catching. Those fish are getting hammered now after a month of being stocked. thats good, bad, fine...whatever. Just handle them with love … Continue reading Fall River fishing report 10/25/18

We've had some incredible fishing at the Fall River this week already. Big fish and plenty of them. We are finding some decent BWO and PMD hatches, midges and some caddis. Ants are also bringing some fish up to the surface. The most incredible days are happening on Euro Nymphing techniques.
Fall River Fishing Report 9/6/18
Fall River continues to fish quite well with summer hatches going strong. We are seeing PMD's, Caddis, Blue Wing Olive's and Terrestrials (ants and hoppers especially). The nymphing is awesome and I know I say it week after week but Euro Nymphs on that technique are what we are doing best on. One thing that … Continue reading Fall River Fishing Report 9/6/18

We've had better than average fishing on the Fall River with most of our catches coming on nymphs. Every afternoon you'll see PMD's, Caddis, Ants, Beetles, Hoppers, a few BWO's as we are getting cooler days now. On nymphs the Zebra Midges have been awesome this week! Euro Nymphs, Micro Mayflies, PT's and Split Case … Continue reading Fall River fishing report 8/24/18
